Mission Trips

God is at work all around the world and there is nothing like seeing that first hand.  Our short term mission experiences are based in long-term relationships.  Each year our Impact Ministries offer opportunities to travel and build relationships with our mission partners around the world. Here is more information about each one of these teams below.  Let us know if you are interested in joining a team for one of the trips. Several of them are great for families! GuateStar

Guatemala – Renovating Retreat Grounds/Serving with Students

When: June 13-20, 2020 (all ages welcome, please call for exact dates and other opportunities).

Trip Description: Travel to the highlands of Guatemala with Ken and Lori Anderson. This trip will focus on helping the indigenous population of Guatemala with education and community outreach projects by helping renovate a retreat/camp and working in a school, Colegio Juan Wesley. This school strives to improve education in their community where less than 40% of children complete 6th grade, only 20% go on to 7th grade and less than 1 in 10 moves on to high school. Join our team and come make a difference in these children’s lives now and for eternity.

Can’t go? Consider financially helping to send someone. The trip cost is approximately $1,900. This covers airfare, in-country ground transportation, lodging, meals, travel insurance and projects funds. On this trip you will visit a local outdoor market, visit a typical home and participate in a Sunday worship service with your Guatemalan brothers and sisters.

Contact: Lori Anderson at 303-877-7490 or lori@guatestar.org.

Casa Hogar

Mexico – Casa Hogar Palabra de Vida/El Porvenir
When: June 30 – July 6, 2019. (Completed! Stay tuned for next year!)
Where: Casa Hogar Palabra de Vida Orphanage, Chihuahua, Mexico
Requirements: Attend team meetings. Passport valid at least 6 months after the trip is completed. Spanish speaking would be useful, but is not required.
Trip Description: We are planning another trip of encouragement and fun this July. We invite families to consider to participate together or single individuals to join the team. Our spiritual emphasis will be on prayer and we will be doing a variety of activities with a puzzle theme. The orphanage is located in Chihuahua and is operated by a local church. Approximately 70 kids, ages 4 to 21 live at the orphanage. Depending on the situation at the time, some of the possible team activities could be participating in vacation Bible school, construction projects at the orphanage, sports/outings with the children, assist with the cooking, worship with the children and street evangelism. If desired, there is an option to stay one or more nights with the children at the orphanage. Transportation is either by church van. Driving takes about 1 ½ days each way. If you choose to fly, there is a modern airport in Chihuahua, Mexico. We will stay in modern motels in Chihuahua and most meals will be in restaurants.
